San Francisco Fixed

A couple weekends ago, I got to explore the City of San Francisco on my bike, through the eyes of a local. We went to all the non-touristy spots [[with the exception of the iconic Dolores Park]] We rode through the Mission, climbed to the top of Bernal Heights and got to have an amazing view of the city. As seen below. He took me through streets where alleys were painted with masterful street art pieces. I was in awe.

I'm a sucker for street art and sun flare

After almost getting hit by a few cars, just for a picture..
yes, I had to
We grabbed delicious turkey sandwiches which tasted like pure Heaven. TBH-I could have eaten about four more.

Rick, thank you for snapping shots and showing Maddie and I such an amazing time. We will be back for a visit and more photo excursions.

ootd- blouse- JCrew, denim- True Religion, belt- vintage, shoes- Toms, bag- Louis Vuitton
I feel like my work week is on fast forward and I can't find the remote in order to pause he madness. But fear not.. I will get through it. On my quick day off I got to enjoy the back country out in the South Bay at Clos LaChance Winery. We had all sorts of munchies and accoutrement's to make our afternoon more enjoyable. I especially loved the wasabi trail mix, it had the perfect about of kick. We shared a few bottles of the 2010, Reserve Viognier- which was very smooth. It had sweet undertones (think apricots and peaches) and a floral scent, which was very light and would pair well with multiple dishes. Finally as the sun began to set we decided that it was best to leave and get back to reality. Plus the bees had taken over one slice of turkey, and we were sure that they would come searching for more.

So we left the music, drinks, laughter and sunset... for another day

I ♥ SF

i had an amazing vacation with these two this past weekend.
You know Joanna because she writes StylePorn
You might think you know June from a popular band, but you don't
They showed the boy and I a fabulous weekend in the City.
I got styled (beyond excited to share), ate a pretzel in Union Square, went to a party while the weather was hot- left a party and the weather turned cold, had a sleepover on the couch, met Monty the Jewish Reindeer{very dapper, as you might imagine}, went out and got drinks AND stayed up past Midnight... that never happens

ummm... its Friday [[YAY]] and I seriously can't even remember this week it has been so busy. So with that in mind I'm forcing myself to remember all the good things that have come my way lately. My boyfriend's Mom heard good news and is seeing results from her doctor, over an ailment she has been dealing with for far too long!! She is such a strong woman and I just know that everything will even out and I hope she finds her peace soon.

Home has been crazy with the beau's new start up. Our schedules have been clashing lately, so I hope we can save room in our schedules for each other this weekend. He took me to the beach (yes, that's the way to my heart) and we shared a picnic from our favorite place and "kicked it old school" with some 40's by the surf . Sublime status. It was the perfect day to spend with my guy; lunch, frisbee by the water and a nap in the sun. Those are the moments I'm thankful for.

Tonight I get to witness my sister and bro's unveiling of their new digs, well I saw it already- but now it's all "done up". They have a beautiful life together, and their new home is going to be one fun adventure after another- because lets face it, you never finish decorating your house. I know I've been bugging them with the details, but "good things come to those who wait"... and all that jazz and whatever... but I'm ready to pop the champagne and celebrate... TONIGHT, I finally can. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your happiness.

So take a chill pill today, and reflect on your own life's journey. Be thankful for how far you've come and be optimistic for what has yet to unfold.

A visit to the north

tank-Matty m, aztec skirt- Forever 21, sandals- Dolca Vita, rings- flea market, Bobbys class ring, Tiffany and Co, owl ring from Kitsch Couture

Near the end of the week, people at work begin to ask what my plans are for the weekend. This particular week... I was stumped? I really had no plans for the weekend, and so that meant that I was free to float like a feather in the wind to where ever my heart desired. On Sunday I thought it was good to suggest a daycation to somewhere new or somewhere we hadn’t been in a while. The beau suggested a trip to Berkeley, while my tummy longed for the little town of Tiburon.

Since we did get started rather early why not visit both! Berkeley was quiet and barely waking up by the time we got there. While driving through town I spotted a Bus lot flea market that looked intriguing. It was filled with the typical craft tents, random household knick-knacks and far too many homemade soap booths. I did find one little treat, a wooden ring with a real starfish secured under the enamel. I really haven’t taken it off since. We also checked out some of the local vintage shops we like along Telegraph, but it wasn't our day for a find and left empty-handed... although the lamps caught my eye..

Have you been to the little town of Tiburon before? It’s just a little seaside town north of San Francisco. Home to numerous delicious restaurants and gorgeous views of the Bay. A lighthouse marks its point from the shore to the sea. And from the sea, I imagine after the sun sets- twinkle lights dance along the shore from open windows and street lamps. After walking through town and along the water, we settled down in the grass and watched the sailboats go out and the sun duck behind the hills.

wine tasting {{part two}}

The winery that we visited after lunch was Darioush and it was breath taking. Right when we pulled up we thought that it looked more like a royal palace than a winery. It was designed and built using many different materials from all over the world, and boasts its influenced design. "Reminiscent of the great noble architecture that once existed, the imagery of the Darioush building evokes Persepolis, the illustrious capital of ancient Persia" The gift shop that is housed inside the tasting room is more like a pop up Barney's Boutique. With uniques finds from Missoni, an assortment of crystal champagne flutes and serving dishes, multiple high profile biography novels, and other classic home and entertaining goods, you could finish up your Holiday shopping in one swoop.

After a beautiful tour of the grounds and the buildings, our host took us down into the cellar where he had prepared a wine and cheese pairing with 5 of their special release and library wines. Out of all of my favorites the Merlot was my favorite and I had to take home a bottle at the end of the night. I'll save it for a special occasion however, before I taste it again. Aside from the wine being delicious, the tasting room was very extravagant. In middle eastern culture the term my home is your home is more of a way of life, than just a saying stitched on a hanging tapestry. Our host made it very clear that the owner wants you to enjoy your time there and everything is put in place to make you feel as welcome as possible. If you're in Napa and you feel like vacationing to another part of the world I hope you get the chance to experience Darioush Winery.
