wants (for a wedding) on wednesday

Two of my beautiful girlfriends are getting married!!!!
Well, not to each other.. so that means I'll need to shop for some amazing dresses to properly celebrate their big days. Both will be outdoor weddings, so weather is a key component when choosing my attire. I need to keep in mind; coverage, length and color. I have always been drawn to blues and greens, but I can't forget about pattern play and texture too. let the shopping begin.

cold shoulder

Lately, I've kind of been obsessed with anything backless.

Lucky for me I have a ton of weddings in the next couple weeks, which will provide a reason to stock up on these pretties. The black lace on Blake Lively is my favorite. The draping hangs so well and even though the pattern is so delicate, I think it enhances the design.

T[oats]

So I seriously got rained on while I was riding to work. I suppose if I want to look at the positive.. my commute really woke me up this morning. I don't mind a little sprinkle in my face, I actually love the rain.. I enjoy it more from the comfort of my couch under a blanket, eating oatmeal.. but oh well. The weather inspired me to pull my three favorite oatmeal recipes.

1) Oatmeal with cranberries, cherries and pistachios

2) Oatmeal with bananas, pecans, molasses and almond butter.

3) Savory- Oatmeal with a fried egg, fresh salsa and extra avocado.

Oatmeal is a great healthy choice for a number of reasons. My favorite is that it is a low calorie food and still fills you up. It is full of fiber and protein but low in fat. The high fiber and complex carbohydrates slow down the conversion of this whole food to simple sugars. The high levels of magnesium nourish the body’s proper use of glucose and insulin secretion.

Headed to the LACMA while I was down in LA last weekend.

And let me tell you, I was blown away with the featured exhibits.

The museum housed everything from ancient Japanese tapestry's to a sarcophagus that dates back to the 14th century to an enormous Hot Wheels track (that I really wanted to take home).

Since I was a young girl, going to art galleries was a big deal for my family. We would attend various openings on Friday night; my sister and I would get to stay up late and see some really incredible pieces and meet some truly inspirational artists.

I guess a trip to the museum brings feelings of nostalgia as well as inspiration.
