wants on wednesday (noms)

Usually, my wants on Wednesday consist of things to buy, places to go or items I want to wear. But today it's all about the food.

I have a few places in mind that I want to try when I am down South. I'll be staying at the Ace Hotel, which is in a killer location right in downtown. It seems only the coolest of the cool venture to DTLA to where locals are dubbing it the “Brooklyn” of LA. The venue offers up a beautiful rooftop deck with stunning views of the city and the amazing sunsets.

I know while I'm in L.A. I want to eat
Urth Caffe: organic deliciousness awaits you with a sweet sip of their home brand of coffee, or teas- if that happens to be you thing. 100% organic and chemical free. Right up my alley, with a pastry on the side.
Syrup Desserts: I need to try their breakfast.. multiple times. I wouldn't know how to make a decision- I've read that their crepes are divine and that their waffles are served with ice cream. drool
and here
SugarFISH sushi: Well, I am guilty of eating sushi 3-4 times a week. I wouldn't consider myself a connoisseur.. but I know a thing or two. I was informed that this restaurant is
TO. DIE. FOR.
'nuff said
My friend Sarah said I have to check out Wurstkuche after I skateboard by the beach in Venice.
I really want to dine at The Little Door. From photos the décor looks rustic with surrounding foliage making for a lush, inviting and calm atmosphere. Again, how will I ever decide on one thing from the menu. Might have to do the Chef's tasting, just to be on the safe side.
Also in DTLA there are about a million graff murals I want to check out. The Dirt Floor is a great reference. Gypsy1 has really gotten me into that aspect of art culture. They're inspiring pieces that are different and raw.
All in all, I think it will be a fun trip and I'm excited to visit with my friends who live there.

white out

Style Inspiration to the Max
Definitely going to be bringing some of these looks with me to lala.
I like going to new places/cities and playing dress up. Wearing things I don't rock at home.. trying out new styles and trends. People can't judge you from your "usual" self.. because they don't know you at all.

just for you

#redlipstickcrookedsmile

I don't consider myself a model, in any way shape or form.

In all honesty, I sometimes feel awkward in pictures and I hate my smile.

I prefer candid shots, but the right person has to catch me at the right time.

I did a favor (cough cough, they did a favor) a little "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours." I posed for a few friends so they could practice their edits and I could get some fun shots for my blog. win win <3

Thank you Linda and Ed for your amazing photography skills. I love how these turned out. xx

Dee Eye Why

Being the crafty person that I am.. I decided that I should try and make some of the items I want to furnish my house with.

Well, I stumbled upon the KING of DIY blogs and found some pretty amazing projects,
that I need to recreate.

The first one I have chosen to do is a headboard for my bed.
I was inspired by this one from West Elm. Found this tutorial on pinterest.
And am still in the process of finishing mine.

But here are some other projects that I think might interest you.

                                   check it below

homemade hummus

I have an obsession with this stuff

I put it on almost anything. I use it as a dip for my carrots, I layer it on my crackers when making appetizers, I even use it as a sandwich spread (I hate mayonnaise).

So I pulled three homemade recipes that I personally love, and could even eat plain on a spoon. If I'm feeling lazy I also love the Otria and Sabra brands, they put out a great product. You should be able to find them at your local grocery.

Classix
4 cloves of garlic (less, if you can't handle it)
2 cups of washed chic peas
1 1/2 teaspoons of sea salt
1/3 cup of tahini
6 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons of water
8 dashes of hot sauce (again.. less if you can't handle it)

mince the garlic in the food processor first, then add the rest of the ingredients. Taste it and add more of what you like. I always add more lemon and hot sauce.

Green-go (gringo.. get it)
15 oz can of washed chic peas
1/2 cup of pesto (I like this recipe)
1/4 cup of olive oil
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of toasted pine nuts
2 tablespoons of minced basil

puree all the ingredients together in your food processor until it is the consistency you like, then add additional, depending on the flavor you like.

Sun dried Tomato
15 oz can of washed garbanzo beans
1/2 cup chopped sun dried tomatoes
3 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoons of minced basil
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon each of salt and pepper

puree all the ingredients in the food processor minus the olive oil, drizzle that in last depending on how thick you like it.
