Black and Brown ♥

Oh Black and Brown, how I love thee. This store is one of the best local vintage places you'll find in the South Bay.. I even know people from the City who make special trips to San Jose just for this shopping experience. They always offer a wide selection of all the current styles. Plus designer pieces and a great shoe collection. All the staff are super awesome!! You should go in and shop around.
{{I'm a bad influence}} They used to be located in a "under the stair" kind of shop over off of San Carlos, but moved to a larger venue on the Alameda. I feel like this is the new up and coming spot. For people who want to stay out late and skip the bar/club scene.. folks who just want to chill.

These are just a few finds I picked up recently. The top is Rory Beca, super good find, price and I love the green. The arrow necklace was picked up at a shop in Encinitas, near San Diego- I dont remember the name. And the earrings were a last minute chance as I was getting everything rung up the other night at the shop.
Lucky me

new New NEW ♥

I went shopping last week with this little lady

I text her earlier in the week and asked if she would help me shop for Fall and teach me the ways of her people. So we first hit up the Levis store and I got fitted for a pair of their Curve ID jeans. Then we popped over to Zara and then to Urban Outfitters. Of course there were a few other stops along the way but those were the shops where I did the most damage. When Joanna asked what my spending limit was for the day.. [because she is such a nice friend, she was only looking out for my best interest]
I laughed.... I had no limit, I was ready to spend!!

This top was actually purchased in Vancouver, from the cutest vintage store (I forgot the name) but it went so well with my new Zara pants, I had to pull it out for my look.

I must admit that I completely fell in love with this top when Jacey wore it on her blog.. I had to snag one too! I feel like it would look great with some pinstriped pants, and killer black heels for a girls night out. I also could pair it with a dark toned banded skirt and keep the flats for running errands. Like my ode to Jenna Lyons with the black glasses. It seemed like the appropriate fit.
I'm also rockin' some very comfy jeans that I picked up [ON SALE] from Urban, only $40!

A big thanks to Bobby Menbari for his amazing photography skills.

:: get your weekend on ::

This weekend there are tons of fun things going on in your area. I unfortunately don't have a long weekend- so I wont get to everything. But here are a few things that I think you should check out if you're in the area and have some extra time. Pack up your sunscreen your headed outdoors this weekend for some festivals.

J-POP SUMMIT FESTIVAL is a pop culture-themed street fair that covers the grounds of Post Street from Webster to Laguna and the Peace Plaza of Japantown, San Francisco. The weekend hours are Saturday Aug 24 - 11:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday Aug 25 - 11:00am - 6:00pm.This is a pretty       Japanese-esque festival so bring your Hello Kitty backpack and be prepared to stock up on hair accessories and yummy food.

Have you been itching to find some new end tables or a new trunk? how about an older one... like vintage/antique. That's my favorite word(s).  I have told you before here, that I love antique shopping- so I might have to check this out. This is the 48 annual Niles Antique Fair held near Fremont. Plus tomorrow they are having a classic car show and Sunday they will have a few live bands. The serious shoppers go around 6AM, so get there early before all the good things get snatched up!

So, whether you reside closer to the North Bay or the South Bay... there is an art festival located in your neck of the woods.I love art festivals because there is always so many different items to look at, from all different walks of life. There are so many talented artisans, from paintings to photography, ceramics and jewelry to unique sculptures. Palo Alto is having there big art festival this weekend from 10- 6 both days in their main drag off of University. Tiburon is also having theirs this weekend and it will be from 11-6 both days and is situated on historic Ark Row in downtown. (cost is $5)

enjoy your weekend

Alameda Flea

Oh my goodness, I had the best time at the flea market the other weekend. They hold it the first Sunday of the month at the docks in Oakland/Alameda. You can always find fabulous things there. I went with two girlfriends who live up in the city, so we met there.

I had been wanting to make a bar in our condo, and had a specific vision.. I knew what I was looking for. I found the right sort of a tables at a few stores in town. But with a price tag of $100 minimum, I decided to go tot he flea with eighty in hand to see if I could find something cheaper, and boy did I!! My friend Maria was the one who pointed it out and I picked it up for $45, not a bad deal. I was happy with my purchase, plus I had extra spending money to pick up some other fun items.

There were so many amazing things for sale there, I couldn't stop taking pictures... even when my camera battery died, I kept snapping shots with my phone. The first time I went, I didn't have nearly enough time to look at everything. One of my members explained to me that you are supposed to work your way from the back, because that is where all the good items are. I always make sure to follow a few simple rules when I go to the fleas. I don't buy designer bags, because they're usually fake. I don't let a wrong size get in the way of me buying something I fell for, you can always alter. And I don't go to a market with out a tank top on, that way changing is a lot easier.

Enjoy the shots from my day at the flea.
